May 5 at 1:30 p.m. - THE GROWN-UP PUPPET SHOW: AN IDEA WHOSE TIME HAS COME!
Punch and Judy, move over. Your eternal marital strife (played to moppets, yet) gets its comeuppance from the San Diego Guild of Puppetry, our new cultural partner in the "Arts and Music" series at Lee. The Guild will debut its work-in-progress, The Secret Life of Walter Mitty by the great American humorist, James Thurber, in the Lee House on May 5 at 1:30 p.m. Brainchild of the prolific Guild director, Lynn Jennings, grown-up puppet shows, such as the new Goldilocks: The Nursing Home Version (coming to Lee this fall), deal with aging, happiness, work, marriage and other adult concerns.
